At HS Motors, we’re more than just a workshop – we’re a family. Owned and operated by Michael and Bec, with Jaime, our mechanic–autoelec all-rounder and go-to workshop problem solver, we pride ourselves on delivering old-fashioned service with modern know-how.

Michael took over the business in 2004, continuing the legacy of one of the oldest continually running mechanical workshops in the eastern suburbs, serving the community since the mid-1970s. Michael’s lifelong passion for cars – and collecting a few along the way – has always been the driving force behind the business.

Over the years, HS Motors has grown from purely mechanical services to include expert auto electrical work – making us a true one-stop shop. Noticing the trend of customers buying parts online, we launched both our own online store and an eBay store more than 15 years ago. What started small has now grown into over 4,000 parts available, covering everything from workshop essentials to specialist gear.

The difference? Unlike most online retailers, we don’t just sell parts – we use them every single day in our workshop. That first-hand knowledge means we know what works, what doesn’t, and which products will suit your setup best. So whether you’re shopping through the HS Auto Parts Superstore or our eBay store, you’re backed by real-world experience that sets us apart from the rest.

When you stop by, you’re not just visiting a business – you’re joining our extended family. And if you’re lucky, you might meet our head of security: Shelby the dachshund, named after the legendary Shelby Mustang. She takes her role seriously (especially when snacks are involved).

Our love of cars has quietly shaped our story – even inspiring the names of Shelby’s two “assistants.” Mini, named after the classic Mini Moke, and Chevy, after the iconic Chevy 3100 ute, both carry a bit of that passion in their names. Together, the trio form the cutest, most low-slung security team in Ringwood – a furry reminder of how much cars have influenced who we are today.

At HS Motors, we’ve always believed in supporting the community that supports us. Over the years, we’ve proudly sponsored a range of local sporting clubs and schools – from Little Athletics to the local cricket and football clubs, and even one of the nearby high schools.

Being in business as long as we have, we’ve had the privilege of servicing not just family cars, but now the cars of their kids as they’ve grown up. That multi-generational trust is something we’re extremely proud of – knowing that families keep coming back to us, year after year, because they value the care and experience we put into every job.
